Eugene Lawson

Mr. Eugene “Bud” Lawson was born in Abbeville, Wilcox County, Georgia on May 6, 1938 to Dan and Bessie Staley Lawson both of whom preceded him in death. He departed his life at his home in Abbeville on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was educated in the local schools in Wilcox County, Georgia. He was a proud soldier of the United States Army. Mr. Eugene later retired from the Robin’s Air Force Base.

At an early age he joined the Elizabeth Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon until God called him to rest.

On April 24, 1960, he was united to Holy Matrimony to the late Lizzie Mae Lawson and unto this union two sons and two daughters were born: Clifford (Lois) Lawson of Eastman, Georgia, Michael Lawson – Deceased (Sharon Wright Lawson) Rochelle, Georgia, Gwendolyn Diane Lawson – Deceased, Robin Lawson (Chris Jackson, Devoted Friend) Atlanta, GA.

He leaves to mourn his passing: Two sisters: Barbara Bailey (Joe), Abbeville, GA, Charlene Slacks (Charles), Fitzgerald, GA Two brothers: Charles Lawson (Gloria) Abbeville, GA, Arthur Lawson (Renee) Ellenwood, GA. five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
